John D. Kopp, 80, Moorhead, MN, formerly Glyndon, MN, died on Monday, January 02, 2006, in Innovis Health, Fargo, ND.John David Kopp was born on April 1, 1925, in Fairchild, Wisconsin, to Herbert and Lily Phillips Kopp. He grew up and attended school in Pepin, WI, graduating from Pepin High School. John married Connie Gilbery on November 4, 1944, at Camp Roberts, CA. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 1944 until 1946, in the Philippines and Korea. Following his military service he lived in Alma, WI, Glyndon, MN, and San Rafael, CA, before moving back to Glyndon, MN, where he lived until 1992. He had worked as a carpenter and an operating engineer before opening his own business, Kopp Plumbing and Heating, in 1969. He retired in 1992 and spent his winters in Mesa, Arizona and his summers on Lee Lake near Hawley, MN. In 2002, they moved to Moorhead, MN. He had been a member of the Glyndon Lions Club.John is survived by his wife, Connie, Moorhead, MN; two daughters, Linda Small, Bloomington, MN, and Mary Cliff Langerud, Barnesville, MN; four grandchildren, Melissa Jeff Langerud Petry, Clinton Tracy Tschakert-Langerud Langerud, Brandon Small and Garret Small; three great-grandchildren, Tate Petry, Katelynn Petry, and Mac Tschakert-Langerud.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arnold and Burton, and one sister, Kathryn Potter.
