John Paul Paschke

John P. Paschke, 46, Glyndon, MN, passed away peacefully from natural causes at his home on February 7, 2018.

John Paul Paschke was born April 21, 1971 in Port Hueneme, CA to Steven and Cynthia Sue (Henry) Paschke.  The family moved to Moorhead, MN when he was 2 years old and he grew up and attended school there, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1989.  He took classes at Detroit Lakes Technical College for engineering and then started his career in construction by working at Henry Brothers Excavating in Moorhead. Over the years John also worked for Municipal Industrial Contracting, Master Construction, Key Contracting and Randall’s Excavating.  He was looking forward to starting a new job with Glenn Oelke Trucking later this month.

In 2000 John married Gail Budke and became a step-parent to Jamie, Heidi and Tyler and helped raise them.  He remained close with the children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his best buddy and grandson, Jordan. He had a special place in his heart for Jordan and treated him as his own.

John spent the last 3 years living together with Elizabeth Davis and her 2 daughters, Lily and Josie.  John was always very loving and took wonderful care of them.  He loved doing anything outdoors, 4-wheeling in his pickup truck, and spending time on his farm.

John was the most kind, compassionate, gentle, patient, loving and generous man! Those of us with special places in his heart were the luckiest people ever!

He is survived by his mother, Cindy Sue Johnson, Moorhead; his brothers, Chad (Paula) Paschke, Bismarck, ND and Carson (Chelsea) Johnson, Gary, MN; his step-children, Heidi (Matt) Dooley, West Fargo, ND, Jamie (Sara) Budke, Fergus Falls, MN and Tyler (Kristina) Budke, Fargo, ND;  grandchildren, Jordan Scott, Easton Dooley, Hattie Dooley, Debra Budke, Rylee Budke, Ariana Budke, Hunter Budke and Henry Budke; his significant other, Elizabeth Davis and her daughters, Lily Davis and Josie Davis, Glyndon; special life-long friends, Phil and Sue Kern, Scott Schulz, Bill and Sarah Gibbons, Doug (Shorty) Brandt; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ned and Joyce Henry, Arnold and Bernice Paschke and Bernice and Emery Johnson; his father, Steve Paschke; his step-father, Peter Johnson; his aunt, Debbie Ness; his uncle, Russ Henry and his cousin, Jason Henry.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 11:00 A.M, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Friends and family may gather together for one hour before the service.
