John S. Covey

John S. “God” Covey, 53, of Lake Park, MN, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, in his home, under the care his sister, Donna Olson.

John was born January 17, 1960, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Harry and Lillian Sundahl Covey. He grew up in the Lake Park area where he attended school. Following high school he moved to South Dakota where he was employed as a beekeeper and worked for a fencing company. John moved back to Lake Park in 2012 to be with his family.

John enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; three brothers; and his grandparents.

John is survived by his daughter, Melissa Mike Hedlund; grandson, Tyler Porter; son, Tom Hudson; three sisters, Charlotte Covey of Lake Park, MN, Donna Rolland Olson of Lake Park, MN, and Melody Covey of Perham, MN; sister-in-law, Linda Covey of Detroit Lakes, MN; many nieces, nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
