John W. Wright

John Wright, 74, 1101 4th Avenue South, Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, May 22, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.John W. Wright was born on June 11, 1929, in Fargo, ND, to Walter and Ellen Peterson Wright. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1948. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead for three years, and then, in 1951, served in the Army National Guard. John married Vivian Mae Olson on April 28, 1955, in Detroit Lakes, MN, and they made their home in Moorhead, where he owned and operated Wright Awning Company. Vivian died on February 12, 1998. John was active in the Moorhead Athletic Association for many years and was an avid Spud Booster. He liked to golf, bowl, fish, and, after learning to ski in his forties, downhill ski.John is survived by a son, Bill Wright, Moorhead, MN; a daughter, Barb Dennis O'Brien, South Haven, MN; two step-grandchildren, Melissa and Colin O'Brien; special friend, Pat Stott, Alexandria, MN; and Hong Kim Huynh, an employee who was like a daughter to John. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian and one brother, Robert.
