Joseph M. Prosby Jr.

Joseph Michael Prosby, Jr., formerly of Felton, MN, died Friday, July 16, 2010, after a long illness. he was surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born May 27, 1928, on the family farm to Joseph Sr. and Isbelle Prosby. He attended school at Morken Township 22 West, graduated from Moorhead High School, and studied mechanics at Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, MN, for a year. On November 16, 1949, he married Leona Sauvageau, the love of his life, at St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo, ND. They lived and farmed in rural Felton, MN, for over 50 years. In 2000, they moved to Riverview Place, Fargo, ND.Joe is survived by three daughters and two sons, Shirlee Patrick Eidenschink, Detroit Lakes, MN, Colleen Tim Gemar, Moorhead, MN, Kathleen Tony Sciacca, Monument, CO, Joseph III Jenny, Felton, MN, and Micheal Sharon, Valley City, ND. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 8 1/2 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Hovdestad, Fargo, ND, and Mary Ann Prosby Smith, Little Rock, AR.He was preceded in death by is wife and his parents. Joe was a hardworking man who provided his family with a good life, many happy memories growing up and working on his beloved farm and on many family adventures.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Riverview Place or Hospice of the Red River Valley. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Riverview Place for the loving care, friendship, and understanding they provided Dad.
