Joseph N. Hasby

Joseph Hasby, 74, Thief River Falls, MN, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.Joe was born on December 8, 1936, in Thief River Falls, MN, to Henry and Martha Mikkelson Hasby. He grew up and attended school there and then served in the U.S. Army. He married Lynnette Lamb on July 4, 1979, in Middle River, MN, and they made their home in Thief River Falls. He worked in construction and farming all of his life. Joe enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He had a very tender heart for animals and nature. He excelled at mechanics and could fix anything. Joe is survived by his wife, Lynnette, Thief River Falls, MN; step-son Matthew Lamb, Fargo, ND; daughters, Jodie Ken Steffes, Andover, MN, Rebecca Bissett, Mapleton, ND, Jeannette Aaron Smith, Moorhead, MN; Cindy Scott Brandon, Middle River, MN; Bonnie Todd Fossell, Karlstad, MN; brothers, Gordie Hasby, Park River, ND and Donald Hasby, Hartford, WI; sisters, Joyce Hasby, St. Hilaire, MN, Judy Cameron, Red Lake Falls, MN, Karen Flaten, Colorado Springs, CO, Shirley Maurer, Staples, MN; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Cody Brandon, brothers Howard and Burton, sisters, Cora Stigen, Ivy Miller, and Esther Vik.
