Joyce A. Steen

Joyce A. Steen, 85, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, April 24, 2014 in her home.

Joyce Ann was born on August 9, 1928 near Clinton, MN, to Myron and Maud Watkins. She grew up near Clinton, where she graduated from high school. Joyce married Sanford “Sandy” Steen in October of 1947. They made their home in Clinton, MN until they moved to Moorhead in 1956. Joyce worked as a waitress at the Hilton hotel in Moorhead for 30 years. She was a member at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway. Joyce loved traveling and gardening.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 66 years, Sandy, Moorhead, MN; children, Sanford Jr. “Skip” Steen, Moorhead, MN, Rod Steen, Moorhead, MN, Myra Hummel, Burnsville, MN, and Brad Steen special friend, Lori Moorhead, MN; five grandchildren, Jammie Hummel, Miranda Udean, Santana Hummel, Gabe Steen and Jack Steen; and six great-grandchildren, Jacek and Rock Hummel, Myanne Udean, Hallie, Brooklyn and Jett Steen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry; siblings, Don, Frank and Cheryl.

Memorial Gathering: Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial Service: Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.
