Julian K. Johnson was born July 12, 1927 in Cromwell Township to Edwin and Ida (Nordling) Johnson. He attended country school. He was married to Betty Handegard October 15, 1949. They resided in Hawley, MN all their married life. They just celebrated their 70th Anniversary! He worked a variety of jobs until starting his own Construction Business. He and Bob Solum built and managed Bob and Julie’s Laundromat for 32 years. He drove school bus and ran a candy business. Julian was an accomplished craftsman. His family is blessed with many of his woodworking projects. He loved his church and was active in Church Council, Choir, Bible study, custodian, and the church benefitted from his woodworking.
Julian and Betty were blessed with 2 children. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his son, Randy (Vicky) Johnson and son-in-law, Tim Kronbeck. Their daughter, Pam, passed away May 4, 2020 after fighting chronic health conditions. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; his sister, Marlys (Ken) Christianson and sister-in-law, Harriet Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lillian, Edla, Alice, Esther, Carly, Louise and Ronnie.

Julian entered Eventide Nursing Home in December 2019. He died on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
