Julie Beth Olson was born on October 3, 1956, to John "Buddy" and Harriet Olson and joined big brother Rick on the Olson family farm where she enjoyed living on the lake and riding her horses. Julie attended school in Lake Park and graduated in 1975.
Julie was joined in marriage to Mickeal Fosse on July 15, 1978. To this marriage, 3 beautiful girls were born- Melissa, Stacey, and Kellynn. She worked at Westco Augers, West Fargo stockyards, Classic Roadsters and Case IH (for over 24 years).
During her marriage to Mike, they lived in Horace, ND raising hogs. In their free time, they enjoyed trail riding on horses, riding motorcycles including trips to Sturgis, the West Coast and Texas. They later divorced.
Julie moved to West Fargo before retiring. In her retirement, she enjoyed keeping busy and worked at Michael's and Sanford Hospital. She later moved to Valley City. She worked at AmericInn, enjoyed riding hammerhead with friends and gardening. She loved going to Las Vegas for the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) and loved gambling; she was especially lucky at the slots!
In February 2023, Julie was diagnosed with cancer. After her diagnosis, Julie spent the last few months staying with her daughters.
Julie died at her home in Valley City, which was one of her wishes. Prior to passing, she stated she was looking forward to riding her horses again.
Julie was a hard worker and didn't always work jobs that were considered to be normal for women. She enjoyed keeping busy and spending time outdoors.
Julie is preceded in death by her father, John "Buddy" Olson and her brother Richard "Rick" Olson. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Robert) Dirk, Stacey (Troy) Christianson and Kellynn (Kyle) Zinck; her 5 grandchildren, Colten, Gunnar, Paisley, Axel and Hailey; her mother, Harriet Olson; her sister-in-law, Janet Olson, Craig & Lois Schulstad and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
