Karen A. Hermann

Karen Ann Hermann, 64, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. Karen was born in 1954, in Georgetown, MN, to Andrew and Rose Hermann. One of 12 children, Karen grew up loving farm life. Her greatest joy while growing up was music. She played violin and guitar. Often asked to sing at functions, she eagerly accepted, doing weddings, funerals, rodeos, and contests. Karen graduated from Moorhead Sr. High in 1972. She accepted a job in New York as a nanny for a year which started her love of travel. In 1984, she met and married Joe Mcconahy, and they had one child, Rebecca Rose. In the 90’s Karen went back to school for a degree in Office Administrative Management. After graduating, she began working for Noridian. Karen retired in 2014. That same year she met and married Lewin Clefisch. Together they traveled to all 50 states and over 50 countries. Her “Bucket List” was complete.

Left to survive her memory are her husband and daughter; brothers, Jerome (Linda), Michael (Sheila), Charles (Sharon), William (Mary), Thomas, Richard (Lisa); and sisters, Mary (Ernest) Normandin, Patricia (Bernard) Audette, Barbara (Mark) Thompson and Jean (Deon) Walton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Rose.

Visitation will be Friday, May 24, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 1:00 p.m., in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Wild Rose Cemetery, Georgetown, MN.
