Karen J. Hegge, 76, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, August 25, 2014, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Karen JoAnn Kuehl was born on March 15, 1938, to Ferdinand and Lela Tabott Kuehl. She grew up on the family farm near Glyndon, MN, graduating from Glyndon High School. On December 12, 1957, she married Russell Hegge in Sabin, MN. They lived in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Karen worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses throughout her life. In addition, Karen and Russell owned and operated the café and grocery store in Leonard, ND and Foolery’s Bar in Argusville, ND. Karen retired from Great Plains Towers in 2009. She loved to stay busy and enjoyed many activities including pool, darts, bowling and crocheting. Karen also loved to be with family and organized many family gatherings over the years.
Karen is survived by her son, Scott Julie Hegge, West Fargo, ND; daughter, Brenda Onchuck Tom Woodbury, West Fargo; four grandchildren, Andrea Thomas Allison, Layce Onchuck, Jocelyn Hegge and Nicholas Hegge; great-granddaughter, Dania JoLee Allison; sisters, Lois Motschenbacher and Beverly Edenborg, both of Moorhead, MN; brothers, Marvin Beverly Kuehl, Moorhead, MN, Ronnie Kuehl, Glyndon, MN and Donnie Kuehl, Portland, OR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Evelyn Bergman, Clifford Kuehl, Glennys Larson, Duane Kuehl, Jerome Kuehl and twin sister Sharon Stubstad.
Visitation: Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in Hope Lutheran Church North Campus, Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Friday, August 29, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. in Hope Lutheran Church North Campus, Fargo, ND.
Interment: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin, MN.
