Karen L. Walton

Karen L. Walton, 82, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Eventide on 8th, Moorhead, MN. Karen was born May 16, 1935, in Omaha, NE, to Warren and Reva Cumming. She grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls, SD, and graduated from Washington High School. Following high school she continued her education at Stephens College in Columbia, MO, where she received her Associate Degree. She later earned a Bachelor of Art degree from Augustana College in Sioux Falls before attending Moorhead State University where she received her Bachelor of Science. Over the years, Karen flew airplanes, worked as a Teacher in Fargo and a Para Professional in the Moorhead Public School system, was a Para Legal, and loved being a daycare provider for her grandchildren.

Karen is survived by her husband, Robert Walton, Sr.; sons, Robert Jr., (Patricia) Walton and Stephen (Sue) Walton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nick (Katie), Lindsey, Andrew, Thomas and Melanie; her niece, Jill (Chuck) Adami; and her nephew, Tom Burke.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Eventide on 8^th, Hospice of the Red River Valley, Essentia, and Dr. Tracy Martin for their exceptional care.

Visitation will be Saturday, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.
