Karen V. Robideau

Karen V. Robideau, 62, Moorhead, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, in her home in Moorhead, MN. Karen Virginia Myhre was born March 29, 1948, in Warren, MN to Sandie and Clara Tanem Myhre. She graduated from Dilworth High School. Karen attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND and later North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND for nursing. On April 16, 1970, she married William Robideau in Aberdeen, SD. Together they had three children. Karen had a true passion for her nursing career in pediatrics, working for Dakota Hospital for almost 30 years, followed by MeritCare Occupational Health. She served on the State Board of Nursing in North Dakota for two terms. Karen was a strong supporter of animal welfare, especially Bassett Buddies Rescue. She also enjoyed volunteering at Dilworth Lutheran Church and Dilworth Elementary School. Karen was always a very active member of the Democratic Party. There was not a place she didn't have friends. Her hobbies included arts, crafts, music and watching movies. She also loved to cook, bake, and decorate for the holidays. She entertained for every holiday and held an annual Christmas party for over 30 years. Karen was very compassionate, dedicated and always had a twinkle in her eye. The most important things in her life were her family, friends and pets. She is survived by her husband, William; two sons, James Robideau, Florence, AZ and Brad Crystal Robideau, St. Paul, MN; one daughter, Sara Peter McEnery, Oconomowoc, WI; one brother, Guy Myhre, Seattle, WA; two sisters, Doris Ed Allen, Encinitas, CA and Julie Myhre, Brooklyn Park, MN; and one special dog, Bud. Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Sandie and Clara Myhre.
