Keith A. Carlson

Keith Arnold Carlson, age 70, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his residence in Dilworth.

Keith was born on May 21, 1948 in Moorhead, MN, to Barrington and Alphild (Swanstrom) Carlson. He graduated from Hawley High School and soon after enlisted in the US Air Force where he served as an aircraft mechanic domestically and abroad from 1967-1971. After leaving the military, Keith farmed near Hawley, MN. He married Lucille “Luci” Fendrick on July 26, 1975 in Fargo, ND and together they raised their 3 boys. After farming, Keith attended Detroit Lakes Technical college and received a degree in automotive technology. He was a mechanic for over 30 years.  After his “retirement” from mechanic work, he filled his time working at Bethel Church in Fargo, ND, tinkering around the farm, and volunteering at his church.

Keith loved spending time with his family, especially his sons and grandchildren. He had a strong faith and was a proud member of the Saturday morning bible study at Maranatha Lutheran where he was also an active member and trustee.

Keith is survived by his wife of 43 years, Luci; sons, David (Kat) of Hawley, MN, Jeffrey (Carleen) of Bismarck, ND, and Steven (Carrie) of Detroit Lakes, MN; 9 grandchildren, Lydia, Zachary, Alayna, Natalie, Viviana, Benjamin, Andrew, Julia, and Jessica; sisters, Karen (Fred) Lundstrom of Nevis, MN, Elaine (Dave) Oftelie of Center City, MN, and Francine (Leonard) Burnside of Hawley, MN; and brothers, Paul (Marcene) of Hitterdal, MN, and Barry (Colleen) of Moorhead, MN.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Nick.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Maranatha Free Lutheran Church in Glyndon, MN. There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead following the funeral service.
