Kendall E. Dusbabek

July 10, 1936 — April 5, 2007

Ken, the son of George and Ilo Harris Dusbabek, was born July 10, 1936, at Waterville, Minnesota, where he grew up and attended school. Upon graduation, he served four years in the U.S. Navy. In 1958, he married Joanne M. Strom at Waterville, Minnesota, and they resided in North Mankato, Minnesota, where he also attended Mankato State University. In 1966, they moved to Moorhead, MN, where he was employed for thirty-nine years, researching plant metabolism at the U.S.D.A. Bioscience Research Laboratories located at NDSU in Fargo. In 1968, they moved to their current farmstead near Hawley, MN. Upon his retirement from the U.S.D.A. in 2001, Ken kept active with a number of part time jobs, most recently as Security Officer for Allied Security at the Crystal Beet Plants in Moorhead, MN. Ken will be most remembered for his love of the wildlife around the farmstead, fishing, and his love of gardening. He was an active member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He was preceded in death by one son, Bradley Dusbabek. Ken is survived by his wife, Joanne, Hawley, MN; a son, Doug Cyndi Dusbabek, Hawley, MN; a daughter, Debra Wade Wiita, Hawley, MN; one sister, Betty Loel Hermel, Good Thunder, MN; one brother, Richard Jean Dusbabek, Fort Myers, FL; and five grandchildren, Samantha & Jake Wiita, Brian & Brandon Dusbabek, and Regan Dusbabek.
