Kenneth E. Krause

Kenneth Edward Krause, 87, Fargo, ND, died on February 10, 2013, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
Ken was born December 7, 1925 in Hankinson, ND, to Edward and Hazel Popp Krause. He graduated from high school in Hankinson in 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946. In 1948, Ken married Evelyn Bernard in Hankinson, and together they had three children, Craig, Peggy and Jeff. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science and then graduated from Valley City State Teachers College in 1949 with a degree in Education. He taught and coached in Lidgerwood, ND, until he was recalled to serve in the Navy during the Korean War.
Ken taught and coached in Twin Valley, MN, and earned his Master’s in Education Administration from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He worked for The Equitable Life Assurance Society and also refereed high school and college basketball and football games.
In 1974 he took the position of project manager for the Fargo Housing Authority and retired in 1984. He was a member of the Red River Senior Golf Tour and had also belonged to the Eagles, Elks, and American Legion clubs.
Ken is survived by his sons, Craig Joan, Moorhead, and Jeff Patty Anderson, Fargo; son-in-law Kim LaDuke, Moorhead; two grandsons, Brian and Tony LaDuke; one granddaughter, Jessica Darren Butenas; five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, who died in 2005, his beloved daughter Peggy LaDuke, and his parents Ed and Hazel Krause.
Memorial Service: Thursday, February 14, 2013, at 1:00 P.M., in Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Friends may gather for one hour prior to the service.
Final Resting Place: The Columbarium at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
