Kenneth H. Bachman

Kenneth H. Bachman, 78, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.

Kenneth Henry Bachman was born July 25, 1939 in Lisbon, ND, to Henry and Jenny (Lund) Bachman.  He grew up in Englevale, ND, and attended school in Verona, ND, graduating in 1957.  He went on to attend North Dakota State University on a full scholarship to play football and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science.

Following NDSU, Ken worked on the family farm in Englevale until 1980 when he took a job with Carnation Corporation, now Nestle.  He married Arlene Gilbertson on March 17, 1985 in Las Vegas, NV.  In 2001, he went to work for WCCO Belting in Wahpeton, ND, until his retirement in 2013.

Ken loved the outdoors and spending time at the lake.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, reading, Twins Baseball, and was a member of the Elks and Eagles Clubs.  He was passionate about his Bison football and was a proud member of the Team Makers Club for many years. GO BISON!

Ken is survived by his wife; children, Brad (Joenell) Bachman, Barbara (Joel Fiechtner) Bachman, Brenda (Jonathan Whalen) King, Gwen (Dion) Lybeck and Christopher (Paula) Okeson; grandchildren, Henry, Harold, Tyler, Jeremy, Brianna, Todd, Emily, Molly, Maxon, Hannah, Katrina and Cora; sister, Betty Hock; and dog Angus Marie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and dogs, Nettie, Colonel Jackson and Miss Olive.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
