Kenneth “Jr” Kasin

Kenneth “JR” Kasin, 83, of Hawley, MN died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, MN.
He was born June 13, 1930 to Halvor and Martha Undjhem Kasin in Hawley, MN. He married Joanne Thiel in 1953 in Hawley where they resided and raised three children.
JR worked at the Hawley elevator and then Sellin Brothers Construction until his retirement in 1990. His hobbies in retirement included rebuilding engines in his home shop and gardening at his son’s home. JR loved animals and helping out on the family farm. JR was a dedicated and hard worker.
JR is survived by his daughter, Laura Steve Mattson of Lake Park; sons, Kenneth of Dearborn, MI and Jeffery of Hawley; grandchild, Shannon Aprill of West Fargo; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Rachel; and sister, Doris Simonson of Hawley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne 1987; and son infancy, David.
Funeral Service will be 11 AM January 29, 2014 at Hawley Lutheran Church in Hawley, MN
Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church
Interment will be at Hawley Cemetery in Hawley.
