Kenneth O. Anderson

Kenneth O. Anderson, 81, of Glyndon, MN passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo, ND.

Kenneth Oral Anderson was born August 18, 1935 to Albert and Florence Bowersfield Anderson in Ada, MN. He grew up on the family farm in Lockart, MN and attended school in Lockart and Ada.

Ken spent most of his working life in the construction business, but had a great passion for building and racing cars, which he did later in life. He and his son Jess owned Anderson Custom Auto Body in Moorhead, MN. Ken also enjoyed snowmobiling.

Ken met Sylvia Adkins in St. Paul, MN where they were married in 1954. In 1955 they moved to Duluth, MN where they raised their 5 children. After 22 years, they moved to Moorhead.

Ken is survived by his wife; daughters, Deborah Laurence Hiatt, Hankinson, ND, Kim Hughes, Duluth, MN, Sonya Jeff Primus, Hawley, MN; sons, Bruce Anderson, Duluth, MN, Jess Anderson, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Stacy and Miranda Hughes, Sam and Stephanie Primus, Liza, Ben, Jacob and Athena Anderson; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene “Wimpy” Anderson, Moorhead, David Marlene Anderson, Barnesville, MN, Danny Terry Anderson, Moorhead; sisters, Alison Ford, Blaine, MN, and Yvonne Freimuler, Portland, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Anderson; sister, Verniel Hagen and son-in-law Dale Hughes.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elim Care for their wonderful care and friendship.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
