Kenneth O. Ludemann, 77, Detroit Lakes, MN, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Kenneth was born on August 17, 1931, at Pelican Lake, near Pelican Rapids, MN, to John and Anna Lohse Ludemann. He grew up and attended school in Barnesville, MN, graduating from Barnesville High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. Ken married Rita Krauth on June 21, 1952 and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. He worked for Sherwood Lumber and Fuel in Fargo, ND, for thirty four years, eventually assuming ownership. As he neared retirement, he sold the business to Builder's Supply Company and worked for them until retiring in 1993. Kenny and Rita enjoyed many summers together with their family at West Silent Lake and, in retirement, spent their winters in Arizona. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing pool and cards and woodworking. He was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club for many years. He had served on the Board of Elders at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and many other committees and boards at church.He is survived by his wife, Rita, Detroit Lakes, MN; three daughters, Muriel Gary Neu, Wadena, MN, Cindy Bill DeHaan, San Antonio, TX, Nancy John Eckl, South St. Paul, MN; brother George LaRae Ludemann, Missoula, MT; sister Erna Bang, Barnesville, MN; nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
