Kent G. Knutson

Kent G. Knutson, 81, of Moorhead, MN, went to meet God face to face on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. He passed away at home in the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Kent was born in Fargo, ND, to Otto and Anna Frigstad Knutson. He grew up in Moorhead, attended school and graduated from Moorhead High School where he was an honor student and the salutatorian. Following high school, Kent entered the U.S. Army, where he served 21 years and retired from the military as a lieutenant colonel. While in the service, the Army sent him to Texas A&M to get his Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. Kent married Donna Landis Wright on May 27, 1967, in Rapid City, SD. Together they spent a few years in Korea, where he worked as an engineer, before moving back to the United States. After his military service he went to the University of Michigan Law School, where he got his law degree and later practiced law in Moorhead for seven years.Kent is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, James Carmen Wright of Denver, CO, Arthur Amy Knutson of the Twin Cities; grandson, Christopher Wright; granddaughters, Kendra Knutson, Megan Knutson, Greta Knutson and Grace Knutson; and sister, Gertrude Knutson.He was preceded in death by his parents; and uncles.In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
