Kim Hoa Tran, 70, of Wahpeton, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2020, surrounded by family at Sanford Hospital. Kim was born on June 15, 1949, in Saigon, Vietnam to Danh Vo and Thi-Nhon Huynh. Growing up in Saigon, Kim was homeschooled and enjoyed spending time with her grandma, who taught her how to knit. She used her talents to sell socks and hats, and was also employed at the Army Warehouse.

In April of 1975, Kim left Saigon and journeyed to California. Soon after, she settled in Park Rapids, MN, where she worked as a housekeeper and later married Thihn Dinh. She often talked about her trip to Duluth, MN, where she admired the views and the lighthouses.

New career opportunities led Kim to Detroit Lakes, MN, and later to Breckenridge, MN. Kim also enjoyed her time in Fergus Falls, MN, where she enjoyed walks and spending time with her first son, David. Her final move was to Wahpeton, ND, where she met and later married Danh Tran on July 16, 1984. They were blessed with 2 sons, Matthew and Christopher. She was a loyal employee at Primewood for over 10 years. Kim enjoyed gardening, and is remembered for growing hot peppers.

In recent years, Kim treasured time with her grandkids. Family always looked forward to the days she made traditional Asian foods. Kim brought joy to every moment and occasion, and always made the best of each situation. She is known for her giving heart and kind deeds, and in her final years continued to knit and donate scarves, hats, and socks to those in need.
