Kristi Jo Tande

Kristi Hess Tande, 55, of Moorhead, MN passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Kristi was born on August 23, 1961 in Wadena, MN to Douglas and Joan Frost Hess.

Kristi graduated from Verndale High School and received her Medical Secretary Certification from Wadena Vo-Tech. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Park Rapids before moving to Moorhead in 1982. She graduated from Moorhead State in 1994 with a degree in Social Work. She worked as a licensed social worker at Lutheran Social Services Guardianship Program until 2004.

She was united in marriage to Harmen Tande on September 5, 1999 and they resided on the family farmstead near Moorhead. Their sweet son, Ashten, was born on April 24, 2007. Kristi devoted her life to caring for Ashten and preparing him for life without his mother. In 2013, her battle with colon cancer began and she was a determined fighter. Kristi loved puzzles, strawberries, bonfires, mowing lawn, and her family.

Kristi is survived by her husband, Harmen; son, Ashten; mother, Joan; sisters, Leann Mary and Sandy Hess; brothers, William Deb, Mark, and Wayne Diane Hess; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Douglas.

Visitation: Friday, April 7 at Wright Funeral Home, 605 2nd Ave. South, Moorhead, MN from 5:00-6:30PM with a prayer service beginning at 6:30PM.

Funeral Service: Saturday, April 8 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 610 13th St North, Moorhead, MN at 10:00AM with a visitation one hour prior to services.

Burial: Following services at Riverside Cemetery in Moorhead, MN.
