Larry D. Michaelson

Larry Dean Michaelson, 69, of Moorhead, MN, passed away unexpectedly May 13, 2016. Larry was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Survived by his family: wife Kathleen; children Nicole Norris Scott Heggen, Serena and Ethan; and grandchildren Vivien Heggen and Orion. He is also survived by his brother Loren and nephew Brian. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Clara Michaelson, his son Caleb, and his sister Beverly Burrow.

Larry was born in Carrington, ND on March 27, 1947 to Edwin and Clara Halvorson Michaelson and grew up in Glenfield, ND. He graduated from Fargo Central High School on June 3, 1965 and then pursued, throughout his life, his love of the culinary craft. While working at the then Holiday Inn in Moorhead, he met Kathleen. They married on August 22, 1981 and made their home in Moorhead. Larry enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, fishing, golf, and watching baseball and football. During baseball season, Larry loved spending time with his family at the local Red Hawks baseball games. He always had a smile and a friendly wave for everyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20 at The Christ the King Church, 1900 14th St S. Moorhead, MN. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. that day.
