Larry Dean Tanem

Larry Dean Tanem, 74, of Warroad, MN, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, in Essentia Health Hopsital, Fargo, ND. Larry was born on September 12, 1946, to Ingmar and Evelyn (Holterson) Tanem in Grygla, MN.

Larry began working on the family farm near Grygla at a young age and later picked rock. He met Linda Walker in the 60’s and they were united in marriage in 1968. They were married for 15 years before she passed away. He held different positions throughout his life, including farming, construction, roofing, and logging. He most notably worked for Marvin’s Window and Door for nearly 20 years.

Larry enjoyed hunting in his earlier years and had an affinity for trucks, specifically Chevy.

Larry was a very private individual who loved his family wholeheartedly and was loyal to a fault. He would often put those he cared about as a priority before himself and was selfless that way. He loved his kids, he loved his sister, he loved his family. He was not the easiest person to get to know or to get to talk about things, as he was so private, but he cared about his family whether they were immediate or distant.

Larry is survived by his children, Mona and Eli Tanem; sister, Margie Cleven; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda; parents, Ingmar and Evelyn; and siblings, Leroy, Judy, Jimmy, and Arnold “Arnie” Tanem.

If there was one piece of advice Larry could leave to you, it would be to do your due diligence with your health and do your routine cancer screenings.
