Laura B. Bitzer

Laura Bitzer, 96, of Moorhead, MN died Saturday, October 5th 2019, in her home under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Laura was born August 8th, 1923, to Roy Clinton and Laura Ophelia (Heathcoat) Wann, in Booneville AR. She grew up and attended school in Elk City, OK. While in Oklahoma she met Robert Bitzer and they married on December 8, 1943 in Cheyenne, OK. Together they had four children. They lived in Cincinnati for a few years before moving to Madison, MS, where they lived for over 50 years. Laura raised her children, worked at Hillcrest Poultry Farm, and did some seamstress work for IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees).

Laura enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, painting with water colors, and coloring with colored pencils. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. They moved to Moorhead, MN in 2005 to live with Gary & Sally Bitzer.

Laura is survived by her son, Gary (Sally) Bitzer, Moorhead; daughters, Beverly (Tom ) Stuart, Louisiana, Susan (Bill) Presley, Mississippi; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, daughter Beryl, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

A private service will be held.
