Lawrence B. Gilbery

Lawrence B. Gilbery, 97, Moorhead, MN, died on Wednesday, September 05, 2012, in Eventide – The Fairmont.Lawrence was born on September 16, 1914, near Kragnes, MN, to Charles and Edith Boulton Gilbery. In 1921, the family moved to a farm north of Glyndon, MN. Lawrence married Belle Frye on December 17, 1935, in Jonesboro, AR. They farmed north of Glyndon, MN, until retiring in 1979, and moving in to Moorhead. Lawrence and Belle celebrated 76 years of marriage in December of 2011. He was a life-long member of the Glyndon Congregational Church in Glyndon, served on the board of the Farmers Union Oil Company for nine years, the board of the Moorhead Credit Union for 21 years, and on the school board at Averill, MN. He also drove school bus for the Glyndon Schools. Lawrence's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Eventide – The Fairmont for the excellent care he received.Lawrence is survived by his wife, Belle, Moorhead, MN; five daughters, Joan Jim Peckham Nelson, Moorhead, Becky Gary H. Olson, Moorhead, Donna Richard Bye, Moorhead, Geri Russell Jalbert, Grandin, ND, and Avalee Joe Upton, Audubon, MN; one sister, Connie Kopp, Dilworth, MN; thirteen grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Evelyn, Louise and Doris; one brother, Fred; and two sons-in-law, Larry Nelson and Ken Motschenbacher.
