Lawrence F. Tiede

Lawrence F. Tiede passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 14, 2017, at Eventide Nursing Home, Fargo, ND. He was born March 16, 1913, in Iowa to Herman and Wilhelmina Behnkendorf Tiede. As a child, he moved to Norman County, Minnesota and attended country school. He married Evelyn Peterson on February 5, 1941. Together they farmed west of Borup for twenty plus years. They moved to Hawley in 1962 and owned and operated the Chevy and Olds Garage. After selling the Dealership, he stayed on as salesman for many years.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Evelyn; brothers, Ernest, Albert, Harold and Clarence; and sisters, Alice Wallace and Violet Ellson.

Lawrence is survived by three children, Vernon Linda Tiede of Moorhead, MN, Shirley Viker of Boise, ID, Richard Kathy Tiede of Sun City West, AZ; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
