Leila was born on July 11, 1929 to John and Adolfina Kitzman in Elgin, IL. She grew up and attended school in the Fessenden, ND area, where her parents farmed. As a young girl, Leila and her sister "Kitty" often sang together, including a live performance on WLS radio in Chicago in 1942.Leila was married to Harold Baumann on December 15, 1948, in Minot, ND and she worked as a waitress there for a time. Harold and Leila lived in numerous communities in MN and ND as they raised their family.Leila's family brought such joy to her life, and she always loved family gatherings and celebrations. As the family grew, she spent precious time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leila enjoyed sewing, quilting, and made many gifts for her family over the years. Leila had a love of nature, especially birds and flowers, and enjoyed an occasional fishing trip with her family. Leila was a devoted mother, grandmother, and loved to cook and bake for her family. Her memory will live on forever. Leila is survived by her eight children; Michael Roberta Baumann, Thief River Falls, MN, Ronald Deb Baumann, Deer Creek, MN, Paulette Tim Schreiber, Glyndon, MN, Jerome Wendy Baumann, West Fargo, ND, Stan Dianna Baumann, Moorhead, MN, Debra Steve Olafson, Menagha, MN, Laurie Tremayne Ebertowski, Grand Forks, ND, and Rob Diane Baumann, Nevis, MN; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also, surviving are her husband Harold Baumann, West Fargo, ND, one brother, Herbert Kitzman, Jamestown, ND and several nieces and nephews, and sister in law Dorothy Kitzman, West Fargo, ND.
