Leola was born June 1, 1923 in Fairdale, ND, the daughter of George and Anna Nygard Myra. She attended rural elementary school and consolidated secondary school at Fairdale High School. She graduated from NDSU with a Home Economics BS and Family Relations and Childhood Development MS. She completed additional work at MSU, U OF M – Mpls, Syracuse University NY and Cornell University NY. She worked for the US Government in the Extension Service in several states and taught Junior and Senior High Home Economics in Fabius, NY, Pembina, ND, Grafton, ND and Fargo. She retired in 1986 from Ben Franklin Junior High School in Fargo. She participated in continuing studies and curriculum writing and served on the Fargo Schools Study Committee and Curriculum Council as well as local and state committees. Leola was President of the Women of Peace Lutheran Church and a member of Sarah Circle, Altar Guild and Archive Group. She served as Cultural Director at the Sons of Norway, Kringen, teaching language classes and serving as librarian and daily volunteer.In 1948 she married Warren L. DuBois, Jr. and had three children: Eric, Hans and Amy. In 1975 she was married to Einar N. Olson of Fargo.She is survived by her children, Eric G. DuBois of Vancouver, WA, Hans R. DuBois Nettie of Elk River, MN and Amy L.Peter Hinrichs of St. Paul, MN; step-children, Marlys Allan Oak and David Barb Olson of Fargo, ND and Richard Donna of Detroit Lakes, MN; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eva Charles Hawk of Strongsville, OH; brother-in-law, Leslie Peterson of Sleepy Eye, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by parents, husband, infant brother Edsell, sisters Selina and Geneve.Memorials preferred to Sons of Norway, Kringen Lodge scholarship fund.
