Leona J. Norman died May 31, 2013 at the Sunnyside Care Center near Lake Park, MN. Leona experienced Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on September 22, 1925 to Lillian and Jentoft Larson. Leona grew up and attended school in the Lake Park area, and graduated from Lake Park High School.
Leona married Alvin Norman on July 3, 1945, and they lived primarily in the Lake Park area. They moved to Portland, Oregon for a couple of years and then came back to Lake Park. Leona worked at various businesses in Lake Park as a secretary/bookkeeper. She retired from the Lake Park school system as a secretary. She also worked seasonally for the lefse factory in Lake Park.
Leona is survived by daughters Joanne Don Bratlien, of Moorhead, Beverly Jerry Johnson, of Fergus Falls, and Roberta Kevin Whipple, of Minnetonka, all in Minnesota. She is also survived by brother Charles Bernie Larson of Lake Park; three grandchildren: Robyn Ed Masseth, Jana Brad Epema, and Todd Bratlien; great-grandchildren: Sydney, Hayley, and Parker Epema, Tyler, Tanner, and Tucker Masseth, and Tory and Hannah Bratlien.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, and siblings Alice Madson, Ernie Larson, Abbie Larson, and Buddy Larson.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Sunnyside staff for the wonderful care she received.

Funeral Service: Monday, June 3, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.
Interment: Lake Park Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lake Park, MN.
