Leonard Schock

Leonard Schock, 89, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Bethany on University Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.

Leonard was born on March 23, 1934, to Fred and Caroline (Krein) Schock in Tuttle, ND. He grew up on the family farm near Tuttle and attended and graduated from Steele High School in Steele, ND, in 1952. He joined the military, serving his country with the United States Army as a radio operator. After he returned, he was united in marriage to Karen Lewis on October 15, 1961, in Tuttle, ND. They moved to West Fargo, ND, briefly before moving to Dilworth, MN, where they made their home. Leonard worked for FM Asphalt where he rolled asphalt for many years. He then worked at Fargo Mills as a mill operator for nearly twenty years before retiring. He enjoyed helping Karen with her daycare in his retirement days.  

Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling to Branson and cabins by the lakes area. He also enjoyed playing card and board games along with watching sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He was an active member at Dilworth Lutheran Church. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and would do anything and everything for them.

Leonard is survived by his children, Patty Harmon, Gerald Schock, and Dee (Rich) Vos; grandchildren, Scott Harmon, Tony (Ariana) Harmon, Justin (Lucy Xiong) Harmon, Kyle Schock, and Jordan Vos; great-grandchildren, Sophia Harmon; siblings, Ted, Elhard, Oscar, Roy, Leona, and Gladys; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen; son-in-law, Gary Harmon; parents, Fred and Caroline; and brother, Edwin.

Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN, after the service at the church.
