Leroy Schroeder Jr.

LeRoy Lester Schroeder Jr., born February 7, 1944, in Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully September 10, 2017, with his loved ones by his side in his home, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

LeRoy grew up and lived in Dilworth most of his life, having 2 children: Todd Schroeder, living in Hudson, CO and Troy Schroeder, living in Warren, MN. He lived with his life companion, Diane Walks, at their home in Dilworth. LeRoy was preceded in death by his mother, Harleth Mielke and his father, LeRoy Schroeder, and his son, John. LeRoy is survived by Diane, her 2 children, Michelle Kearly, living in Las Vegas, NV and Michael Walks, living in Lakewood, CO; Todd and his wife, Audrey, and their children, Zoya and Bella; Troy and his children, Sydni and Braylee. He is also survived by his siblings, Dick Schroeder, Jerry Schroeder, Gene Schroeder, Betty Lundon and Gordon Schroeder, as well as many nieces and nephews.

LeRoy worked as Federal Beef for 28 years and Quality Meats in West Fargo. He enjoyed spending time at his lake place in South Dakota, hunting deer in Minnesota, and spending quality time with their black lab, Duchess. LeRoy and his family processed deer during the hunting season, spending many late nights telling stories about the hunt.

Memorials may be designated to the Red Cross or American Cancer Society.

A memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017, from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
