Lila B. Carlson

Lila B. Carlson, 90, of Hitterdal, Minnesota, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.Lila Selseth was born September 27, 1913, on the farm in Atlanta Township, near Hitterdal, Minnesota, to Andrew and Anna Thomasgaard Selseth, who were from Hornindal, Norway. She attended rural country school in Atlanta Township. She married Erne Carlson on March 11, 1943 in Hitterdal, Minnesota. Following their marriage they farmed near Hitterdal, where Lila lived for 60 years. Erne died in 1952. She loved her farm and raising fern peonies, but most of all she loved her children and her family.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one stepdaughter, Phyllis Selseth, two sisters and eight brothers.Lila is survived by one son, Carl Carlson, Hitterdal, MN; three daughters, Connie Carlson, Moorhead, MN, Karen Ron Christensen, Newport, MN, and Patricia Stalemo, Fisher, MN; one brother, Norman Marilyn Selseth, Moorhead, MN; three sisters, Olga Elmer Bartelt, Clarisa, MN, Alice Stallman, Pelican Rapids, MN, Janet Morris Mickelson, Grand Forks, ND; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
