Lila J. Hoyme

Lila J. Hoyme, 87, of Dilworth, MN, died Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Lila was born May 6, 1932, at home in rural Clay County to Emil and Mary (Thorsvig) Hanson. She grew up attending country school and later graduated from Twin Valley High School. After graduating, Lila moved to Fargo and worked at St. Luke’s Clinic. On September 25, 1953, she married Roger Hoyme in Moorhead. Together they made their home on the farm near Comstock, MN. She enjoyed the next 30 years working at MeritCare Clinic until retirement.

Lila enjoyed dancing and going out with Roger in their earlier years. She loved shopping with her daughter, Vickie, and going out to lunch with her dear friends. She was very involved at church where she enjoyed WELCA and quilting. She was a wonderful baker and loved sharing with her family. She took pride in her grandchildren and never missed a chance to attend their activities. She will be dearly missed.

Lila is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter, Vickie Mullikin; grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Mullikin of Dilworth, Shannon (Bryan) Bienek of Dilworth; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Megan Mullikin, Jack and Gracie Sannes, and Jace Bienek of Dilworth; and her sister, Inez Asleson of Ulen, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Timothy Mullikin; brothers, Morris Hanson and Eldon Hanson; and sisters, Vera Larson and Clarice Anderson.

Visitation will be Friday, February 7, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., in Comstock Lutheran Church, Comstock, MN.

Interment will be at Comstock Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
