Lila M. Anderson

Lila M. Anderson, 104, of Lake Park, MN, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, December 6, 2021.

Lila Marie Anderson was born October 5, 1917, to Carl J. and Mary (Peterson) Anderson in Highland Grove Township. She attended country school and then went to work in Detroit Lakes, MN, where she did housekeeping for three different families.

On January 12, 1941, Lila married Carl NE Anderson and they had two sons, Lowell, and Leroy. Lila kept the farm in order while raising the boys. She also worked for Art Carlson making lefse for many years. When the boys got older, the family purchased a farm north of Lake Park, which was later turned over to Lowell. Lila and Carl built a home on Lake Ida where they resided for 16 years before moving to Hawley. They were married for 56 years before Carl passed away in 1996.

Lila enjoyed gardening and baking. She was a member of many church groups, including Ladies Aid and the Church Circle at Eksjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park. She also made numerous quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

She is survived by her son, Lowell (Helen) Anderson; grandchildren, Rick (Traci), Deb (Kurt), Becky, and Kevin (Kim); great-grandchildren, Alex, Camille (Casey), Brittany, Wilson (Megan), Kajsa, Rosie, Madi, Rachel, Chris, Grace, Eddison and Mark; and great-great-grandchildren, Lilly, and James

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Leroy (Sharon); daughters-in-law, Sharon, and Helen; grandson, Jon; and siblings, Bessie, Mabel, Violet, Fern and Albert.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Eksjo Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
