Lillian Ivadell (Brantner) Viken

Lillian Ivadell (Brantner) Viken was born June 18, 1932, in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Donald and Ella (Engesetter) Brantner Sr. She graduated from Borup High School, Borup, MN, and attended Dakota Business College in Fargo. She worked as an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper for most of her life. She married Luther E. Viken on February 19, 1954 in Moorhead, MN, and they made their home in Fargo, ND.

They enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the lake, on picnics, and site seeing. Lillian loved dogs and was active in dog clubs and entered her own in contests. She was also a sewer and made many quilts, pj’s, dresses, and other gifts like photo albums that combined her love of taking photos with sewing and crafting.

Lillian aka “Auntie” as her beloved nieces and nephews, great and great great alike, were to call her, died Thursday March 7, 2019 at the age of 86. She is survived by her sister, Delores (Lyle) Johnson, Bloomington, MN; several nieces and nephews, great, and great great. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two bothers, Glenn Brantner and Donald Brantner Jr.

Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:30 A.M. at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND, on Monday, May 13th, 2019. Final resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery in Moorhead, MN, following the service.
