Linda Kay Barth

Linda Kay Barth, 67, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, November 3, 2017, at her home, under the care of CCRI and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Linda was born October 2, 1950, at St. Ansgar’s Hospital in Moorhead, to Darrel and June (Logan) Barth.  She attended schools in Detroit Lakes, MN and Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead in 1971.  After graduation, she attended the Clay County DAC program.  Over the years, Linda enjoyed various jobs doing office work, cleaning, and dishwashing.  She retired in 2009.

Linda was a very social person and loved spending time with her family, friends and caregivers over the years. She especially loved the holidays and birthday celebrations.  She enjoyed scrapbooking, watching all-star wrestling and old westerns on T.V., listening to country music, watching scary movies, eating lutefisk and collecting calendars.  Linda also loved to travel, and over the years she was fortunate to be able to take many memorable trips, often with her special caretaker, Dianne.  Trips to Disney World, Las Vegas, Nashville, Branson, Duluth, the Mall of America and the Norsk Hostfest were some of her favorites.  Linda will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

She is survived by her siblings, Lana (Ardell) Whaley, of Hitterdal, MN, Gail (Greg) Utke, of Sioux Falls, SD, Terrie (Ken) Pompa, of Oracle, AZ, Jeff (Carrie) Barth, of Glyndon, MN, Jennifer (Phil) Behrens, of Moorhead, and Jackie (Dave) Geske, of Moorhead. Linda is also lovingly survived by all her CCRI roommates and caregivers, and her special caregiver, Dianne Sanden.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her parents, Darrell and June Barth.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 4:00 P.M., on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Burial will take place at Hawley Cemetery in Hawley, MN.
