Lloyd Lidbeck of Moorhead, MN died March 8, 2006 while surrounded by family. He fought a courageous battle with lung cancer. Lloyd was born in Bird Island, MN, May 11, 1926 to Hugo and Mary Johnson Lidbeck. Lloyd married Dorothy Forsyth in 1945. Lloyd served in the Army in 1946 and went to Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1947. Lloyd and Dory moved to Portland, OR in 1948 where Lloyd worked at the telephone company as well as at a service station with his brother Lyle. Their son Ronald was born in Portland. Shortly after Ron was born they moved back to Bird Island and worked the farm after Lloyd's father died. In 1959 Lloyd started working for Northrup King as branch Manager in Moorhead, MN. In 1962 Lloyd transferred to Norfolk, NE where they lived until moving to Rochelle, IL with the same company. In 1980 they transferred back to Moorhead with Northrup King and Lloyd stayed until he retired from the company in 1985. He was then recruited to Knight Seed Co. in Moorhead as a broker until 1989 when he retired for good.His wife Dory died in 2003 and Lloyd married Lucille Phillips in 2004. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Lucille; son Ron Kathy Apple Valley, MN; three granddaughters, Carol, Ann and Jane, Apple Valley, MN; and one sister Hazel Larson, Merrifield, MN. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Dory, one sister Alice and three brothers, Leonard, Roy and Lyle.
