Lloyd Forness, 98, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.
Lloyd Forness was born in trail county to Carl and Ida (Moen) Forness on June 29, 1919. He was the 9th of 10 children, one passed away as an infant. Raised on the farm there were lots of chores to do, but when work was done, Lloyd and his brothers and sisters played games and swam in the coulee. He went to school at Lindas school in North Dakota through the 8th grade.
Lloyd joined the Army in 1942. He Fought in WWII and spent time stationed in Australia, New Guinea, Philippines, and Japan. He was discharged in 1945, as the war ended, and later worked at Armour packing in Grand Forks.
Lloyd attended Wahpeton State School of Science and took up auto body repair. He worked in this field for over 30 years until retiring.
Lloyd was always polite and caring towards others, he was liked by all who he came in contact with. He goes on to join his wife and baby daughter that have passed before him. He leaves in his passing a brother, two daughters and their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM with a visitation beginning one hour before in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
