Lois Hammett was born November 1, 1924, and was a graduate of Moorhead High School. Lois lived and worked in Minneapolis, Seattle during the war, and Chicago before returning to the Fargo-Moorhead area. She married Edward John Partyke, and together they had four children. They lived in Bismarck, Fargo, and Wisconsin before moving to Colorado in 1961.In 1965, Lois and the children moved to Mountain View, California. In 1973, with her children in college, Lois moved to Washington DC, where she was a legal secretary with Covington and Burling. She retired at age 62, and spent the next year traveling around the world.Lois had broad interests and lofty goals from an early age. She loved learning, traveling, and entertaining. She made friends easily, and will be dearly missed by family and by friends around the globe.She is survived by three children, Paul Jen Partyke, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Linda Partyke, Catonsville, MD, and Susan Partyke, Fredericksburg, VA; two sisters, Alice LeRoy Horpedahl, and Harriet Muffly, both of Los Alamos, NM, one brother, John Nancy Hammett, Ventura, CA, and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her former husband, Edward John Partyke, a son, Richard Lee Partyke, and her sister, Kathryn Johnk.
