Lola R. Dudgeon, 67, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, January 11, 2019, at her home.
Lola Ruth Menke was born December 1, 1951, in Crookston, MN, to Carl and Inez (Widrig) Menke. She grew up on the family farm near Beltrami, MN and attended schools in Climax and Fertile/Beltrami. After graduation she moved to Fargo and began working for the phone company, retiring after 28 years of service.
On February 28, 1992 she was united in marriage to Gene Dudgeon in Fargo. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Pelican Lake for 28 years. Lola enjoyed being in her kitchen cooking and baking. She was extremely detail-oriented and organized and she loved computers. She also loved coupons and shopping and if there was a sale in town, Lola knew about it. Lola was like a mother to her many nieces and nephews, and she was deeply committed to her family. She was known to have the biggest heart, and was always willing to listen, even if she heard their stories a million times.
Lola will be dearly missed by her husband, Gene, of Moorhead; step-sons, Shane (Sheri) Krabbenhoft, of West Fargo, ND and Blake (Annette) Krabbenhoft, of Cooperstown, ND; brother, Ralph Menke, of Beltrami, MN; mother-in-law, Evelyn Dudgeon; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and sisters and brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by both her parents; her brother, Arlo; her father-in-law, Gene Dudgeon Sr.; her sister-in-law, Jan, and nephews, Dave and Mike.
