Loren Vandal, 65, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, January 04, 2021, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Loren G. Vandal was born on December 10, 1955, in Bottineau, ND, to Edward and Denise (Cossette) Vandal. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1974. He attended Moorhead Technical College, studying carpentry, for two years. Loren married Cindy Ludemann on June 21, 1980 in Moorhead and they were later divorced. Loren worked at UPS in Fargo in his early days and then as a carpenter with Dave Anderson Construction and KBW before taking a job at Brown-Wilbert Vault Company in Fargo. He later returned to carpentry and went to work for FMI construction. He had just retired on his birthday, December 10.

Loren was always willing to lend a hand and get the job done. His life revolved around his four boys.

He is survived by his sons, Travis (Angie) Vandal, Moorhead, MN, Brent (Ashley) Vandal, Wolf Lake, MN, Nick Vandal, Denver, CO, and Andy (Kari) Vandal, Bailey, CO; one brother, Mike (Tracy) Vandal, Audubon, MN; five sisters, Marci (Ken) Collins, Boulder, CO, Marlys Svobodny, Plymouth, MN, Jeannine McCann, Moorhead, MN, Tammy (Neil) Braseth, Kalispell, MT, Leann (Steve) Wright, Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Madelyn, Natalie and Elli; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private funeral will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, with a livestream of the service available at 11:00 A.M. on Loren’s page at www.wrightfuneral.com

Interment will be at St. Benedict’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Benedict, ND.
