Lorie Kaye Heldt
January 29th, 1958-May 19th, 2023

Lorie Kaye Heldt, 65, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on May 19th, 2023 after a tough battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fargo, ND and was proud to call the FM area home for many years. She built a life in Fargo/Moorhead that was beautiful.

Lorie was known and loved by so many people. Anywhere she went, someone knew her. Whether they had been a customer at Herberger’s, worked with her at IBM or US Bank, was a coworker or student from MState, or grew up with her, she was adored by many. Her infectious smile, her warm hugs, and enormous heart made it easy to love her. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was one who made sure you knew just how much you meant to her. She was the glue to many things. My mom always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude, no matter what was going on in her world.

My moms passing has left profound sadness in the hearts of all of those who knew and loved her. Although she will be missed dearly by many, we can all take comfort knowing that she is no longer in pain and that she is now watching over us all from above, next to our Heavenly Father.

Lorie is survived by her Daughter, Jessica (Jake) Ellanson; Father, Virgil (Darlene) Heldt; Sisters, Deb Flaskerud, Doreen (Mike) Dirk, and Janelle (Jere) Dail. She is preceded in death by her Son, Christopher Wettstein; Mother, Mary Heldt.

Rest in peace mom. Your legacy will forever be remembered and cherished by all the lives you touched and those who loved you so much. You were the sunshine to many when skies were gray. Love you always.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 25, at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.
