Lorine D. Holschuh

Lorine Delores Moen Holschuh, 90, passed away January 2, 2014 at Touchmark in Fargo, ND. Lorine was born in Mahnomen, MN on December 27, 1923, to Ingvald Moen and Elida Rukke Moen, the second of two children. She graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1941 and went on to graduate from a five-year nursing program at the University of Minnesota, receiving her B.S. and R.N. degrees in 1946. She served as a County Nurse for Sherburne County from 1946 to1948.
Lorine married Reginald Holschuh on December 27, 1947 her birthday and they made their home in Minneapolis where their four children were born. In 1957 they moved to Moorhead where she spent her time raising her family. Beyond her family, she loved music and was an accomplished musician, playing the trumpet, the accordion, the piano, and the organ. She cherished her Norwegian heritage, joining the Sons of Norway, volunteering at their lunches, taking Norwegian language classes, and traveling twice to Norway. Lorine was known and loved by many for her optimism, warmth, and kindness.
Lorine is survived by her four children, Norton Kim of Robbinsdale, MN; Laurel John Grimstad of Edina, MN; Lee Karin of Moorhead, MN; and Elise Brian McAndrews of Seattle, WA; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reg, her brother, Norton, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 3:30 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN.
