Lorraine F. Gilbertson

Lorraine F. Gilbertson, 74, Audubon, MN, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND, surround by her children.

Lorraine Francis Gilbertson was born March 23, 1943 in Graceville, MN, to Richard and Francis Schreiner. She grew up in Dilworth, MN, and was a cheerleader and majorette for Dilworth High School where she graduated from in 1961.

Lorraine married Jerald Gilbertson on February 23, 1963 in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Dilworth and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. She and Jerry raised eight children and as busy as she was she seemed to find time for other part-time jobs. In 1991 they started Northland Towing which they operated until Jerry’s retirement in 1997. In 2003 they sold their home in Moorhead and moved to Big Cormorant Lake, where they made many family memories. Jerry passed away in May of 2016.

Lorraine enjoyed being around people in general, but especially loved being around her children and grandchildren, often getting in on the silly games they’d play with their friends. She will be missed by many.

Lorraine is survived by seven children, Lorie Roger James, Washington state, Tom Julie Gilbertson, Moorhead, Lisa Scott Tipler, Moorhead, Linda Chad Pratschner, Moorhead, LeAnn Gilbertson Dan Skatvold, Moorhead, Troy Nichole Gilbertson, Moorhead, Lindsay Nick Olson, Audubon, MN; grandchildren, Jessica Jeremy Schultz, Shawn Lyndsey James, Tim Gilbertson, Nicole Zach Craft, Andrew Tipler, Heather Josh Wilford, Kaylee Gilbertson, Brooke and Samantha Gilbertson, Hailey Gilbertson; two great-grandchildren, Kaelynn and Collen Schultz; brother, Jim Gerri Schreiner, and sister, Lorita “Babe” Howard Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Timmy and six brothers.

Visitation: Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
