Lorraine Frier, 79, Fargo, ND, died on Sunday, June 10, 2018, in Eventide Senior Living, Fargo, ND.
Lorraine Engfer was born on January 11, 1939, near Alexandria, MN, to Albert and Myrtle (McCommas) Engfer. She graduated from Osakis, MN, High School in 1957. Lorraine moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area in 1960 where she worked at Answer Fargo-Moorhead. She became the office manager and retired after years of service. She was a proud member of the West Fargo VFW Ladies Auxiliary and North Dakota State VFW Auxiliary. From 1999-2000, she served as the National President of the Women’s Auxiliary. As President, she traveled to foreign countries and every state in the country. Lorraine enjoyed shopping and always wore bright colors or sparkly jewelry. She also loved traveling, decorating her home for holidays, and Elvis Presley, who kissed her not once, but twice, after meeting at a California record store. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, who proudly called her “Nana”.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Stacy (Greg) Rick, West Fargo, ND; son Mark (Patty) Frier, Chaska, MN; five grandchildren, Brenna (Ben Thompson), Caitlin Rick (fiancé Taylor Hannah), Delaney Rick, Natalie Frier and Stephanie Frier; sister Janice Trummer, Lake Andes, SD; brother-in-law Tom Quay, Davenport, FL; and sisters-in-law Lyla Engfer, Osakis, MN, and Linda Engfer, Alexandria, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean Quay, and brothers Allan and Tom.
