Lorraine M. “Christy” Christensen-Olson

Lorraine “Christy” M. Christensen-Olson, 85, formerly of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Serenity Assisted Living, Dilworth, MN, surrounded by her family. Lorraine was born on February 17, 1933, to Albert and Ruth (Carter) Christensen in rural Borup, MN.

Lorraine graduated from Moorhead High School. She worked as a Switchboard Operator for International Harvester. She always had a second job as a waitress at fine dining restaurants as she had a passion for serving others.

Lorraine enjoyed countless summers at her lake place on Lake Maud. She would lay in the sun, swim, and heartily enjoyed bringing her nieces and nephews to the lake spoiling them individually. She also spoiled her many dogs and cats throughout the years.

Lorraine had a love for pink lipstick, the Chicago Cubs, Minnesota Twins, walking her dog, bowling, and roller-skating. She also enjoyed lemon meringue pie, anything chocolate, ice cream, crocheting barbie doll clothes for her nieces, chatting on the phone, Bingo, and Casino trips with friends. She especially loved spending time and drinking coffee with her family and friends and had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews.

Lorraine is survived by her two siblings, Marie (Roy) Tweten, and Gene (Betty) Christensen; nieces and nephews, Kathy (Bob) Knutson, LeAnn (Tony) England, Bruce Christensen, Wayne (Kelly Jo Larson) Tweten, Kelli (Jim) Venzke, and Lori (Jeff) Devier; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; niece, Tracy Kuehl; nephew-in-law, Dale Kuehl.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN.
