Lorraine Mae (Krogh) Stumbo, 90, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, in Bethany on University, Fargo, ND.
Lorraine was born on May 8, 1929, to Henry and Minnie (Berg) Krogh in Hawley, MN. She attended school in Hawley through the 8th grade. After her schooling, Lorraine began her work as a mother’s helper for various farm families in the Hawley area. Lorraine was united in marriage to Donald Stumbo on March 20, 1948 in Hawley. Shortly after their marriage, they began farming on their dairy farm near Ulen, MN. There, they raised 7 children.

After their children grew up and moved away, Don and Lorraine would spend their winters in Arizona for the next ten years until Don’s passing in December of 1984. After Don’s passing, Lorraine worked in the kitchen at Sunnyside Nursing Home. She was also a baker at her daughter and granddaughter’s restaurant, the Ulen Café, and she rolled lefsa at the lefsa plant in Hitterdal. After her retirement, Lorraine made her home in Hawley before moving to Moorhead in 2010 where she resided ever since.
Lorraine was a 4H leader, an avid gardener, and enjoyed canning the produce from her garden. She was also an active member of the Walworth Baptist Church Ladies Aid.
Lorraine is survived by her children, David (Joy) Stumbo, Susan (Martin) Jacoby, Keith (Dianne) Stumbo, Rebecca Busby, Mary (Vernell) Nichols, Judy Schultz, and Roger (Heidi) Stumbo; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; siblings, Morris (Amy) Krogh, Helen Maesse, and Pearl (Marvin) Spillum; and many other loving relatives and friends.
