Lorraine O. Anderson

Lorraine O. Anderson, age 92, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.Lorraine Orvilla Anderson was born March 27, 1919, in Nielsville, MN to Charles Rambol and Martha Olson Rambol. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Nielsville. She attended school at Nielsville and graduated from high school there. In August, 1938 Lorraine married Kermit W. Anderson in Thief River Falls, MN. They had four children. Lorraine was a homemaker for most of the years when the children were in school. She worked with Kermit when he was in business with Pure Oil and had a service station in Bagley. In Virginia, MN she worked at Troy Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She also worked at Oklahoma State University where Kermit completed work for a Masters degree. When Kermit retired in 1976 they moved to Moorhead. In 1978 they began to travel to Arizona for the winters and enjoyed this for 11 years. Lorraine was a devoted wife and mother to their children. Lorraine was a dedicated gardener and letter-writer. She was interested in family history and did her part to see that their family stories were shared and preserved. She was the keeper of many pictures from the previous generations and shared them as well. She had many interests and friends and retained her friendships over many years and travels. Lorraine and Kermit traveled extensively over the years, while the family was young and well into retirement. Lorraine and Kermit enjoyed the affection of cherished nieces and nephews which gave them many happy memories. There were many special friends and relatives in their lives. Lorraine is survived by her children, Kay Marie Robert B. Carlson, Kermit "Skip" Marilyn Anderson and Rondi Ellen DuCharme; grandchildren, Jeffrey DuCharme, Jacqlyn DuCharme, Kristin Anderson "Avery Slater", Mark Anderson, Karin Chris Boldman, Michael Anderson and Matthew Anderson. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, parents; daughter, Helen Lorraine b/d 1943; sister, Helen Rambol; brother, Wayne Rambol; half sisters, Alma Hutchinson and Marie Steenerson; and half brother, Oscar Rambol.
